The Lie You've Been Living

What if the biggest thing holding you back isn't your circumstances... but a story you've been telling yourself for years?
Have you ever caught yourself saying...
"That's just the way I am." Or "People like me never..." Or "I'm too old." Or "I'll always struggle with..." Or "I could never do that."
Most of us think we're stating facts. We're often just repeating inherited stories. Years ago, I heard a story about generations of women who trimmed the ends off a roast before putting it into the pan. Daughter after daughter did exactly the same thing. Finally, someone asked Grandma why. Her answer? "Because that's how it's always been done."
Only later did they discover the real reason. Grandma's roasting pan had simply been too small.
The next generations all owned bigger pans. They just never questioned the habit. Sound familiar?
How many of us are still living inside beliefs that solved someone else's problem decades ago? Maybe your family never talked about money, so you've decided wealth isn't for people like you.
Maybe no one in your family went to university, started a business, travelled the world, or wrote a book, so somewhere along the way you quietly concluded, "Neither will I."
Or perhaps someone criticized you once as a child. Too loud, too sensitive, too much, too ambitious, too emotional.
And without realizing it, you've spent years shrinking yourself to fit inside someone else's opinion.
Here's the beautiful part. Beliefs are not facts. They're stories. Stories can be rewritten.
The moment you begin questioning an old belief, you loosen its grip on your future.
A single new thought can redirect an entire life. So today I'd love you to ask yourself three questions:
Is this actually true?
Who would I become if I stopped believing it?
What new story am I ready to write?
Because perhaps your life doesn't need different circumstances. Perhaps it simply needs a bigger roasting pan.
P.S. I still wonder what Grandma did with all that extra roast beef. Unlimited minds want to know.
